LG on Tuesday announced the launch of the LG G Pad II 8.3 LTE tablet in Korea. The highlights of the G Pad II 8.3 include a full-HD display, a full-sized USB port, and LTE connectivity.

The LG G Pad II 8.3, the successor to the 2013’s LG G Pad 8.3, comes with a metal body, and understandably offers a major boost to the hardware specifications. It comes with an 8.3-inch full-HD (1920×1200 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC (1.5GHz quad-core coupled with 1GHz quad-core), and 2GB of RAM.

Other features of the LG G Pad II 8.3 include 16GB of inbuilt storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The LG G Pad II 8.3 includes an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The LG G Pad II 8.3 supports LTE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, and other standard connectivity options. The tablet comes with a standard USB 2.0 port, on the software front, the tablet runs Android 5.1.1 with no words on when – and if – it will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update.

The G Pad II 8.3 comes in Brown Gold colour option, and is currently only set to launch in Korea. LG hasn’t revealed the retail price of the tablet, nor when it plans to sell the tablet in other regions.

LG is slowly refreshing its G Pad tablet lineup. In August, it launched the LG G Pad II 10.1 with Snapdragon 800 SoC. In the same month, it launched the G Pad II 8.0. Earlier this year the company launched the LG G Pad 8.0 tablet in India.
