Verizon Wireless has made its simplified prepaid service plan more attractive.

On Thursday, the cell phone carrier announced that the new LG Optimus Zone 3 smartphone is available for $69.99, and puts some high-powered features right in the palms of prepaid customers’ hands.

The LG Optimus Zone 3 is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor and Android Lollipop operating system on what Verizon claims is a “best-in-class 4.5-inch display.” The Optimus Zone 3 also touts a five megapixel rear-facing camera and two megapixel front-facing camera, which include Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash features for pictures that are ready to be shared on social media networks.

Buyers of the Optimus Zone 3 smartphone can join one of three Verizon simplified prepaid service plans: ranging from $60 per month for unlimited talk and text with 3 GB of data, $45 per month for unlimited talk and text with 1 GB of data or $30 per month for unlimited talk and text with Wi-Fi only access for data.

“This phone is the perfect entry point if you want to upgrade to a more full-featured device, but don’t want to break the bank,” Verizon posted on its website Thursday, as part of the announcement of the smartphone being introduced on its prepaid plan, adding that it’s an ideal option for students.

It’s hard to argue with that.
