Motorola is gearing up for Cyber Monday with some attractive discounts in store, aiming to make the first-generation Moto 360 and the second-generation Moto X and Moto G more attractive.
The days following Thanksgiving amount to one of the busiest shopping periods of the year, as customers flock to the slew of great offers from various companies and retailers. Tech items in particular are in great demand with Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers and Motorola is getting ready to join the party and boost sales of its own gadgets.
We just received an intriguing email from Motorola, heralding upcoming Cyber Monday sales.
“Cyber Monday saving are coming,” Motorola teases in the email. “Starting Monday, Nov. 30 at 11:00 a.m. CT, take advantage of big price drops on select Moto phones and watches.”
Heading over to the company’s promotional page for the upcoming Cyber Monday deals revealed more details. Here, the company notes that the sale starts at 11:00 a.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 30, and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT on Monday, Dec. 7.
Motorola has apparently prepared quite hefty discounts for this promotion, promising to slash up to 50 percent off the price of select devices included in the offer.
More specifically, the first-generation Moto 360 will be the one to get the hefty 50 percent discount, dropping its price from $299.99 to $149.99 for Cyber Monday. The Moto G (2nd Gen.) will see a 40 percent discount, dropping its price from $179.99 to just $99.99, while the Moto X (2nd Gen.) will see a smaller discount of 25 percent, dropping from $399.99 to $299.99.
When it comes to the availability of the offers, things get a bit confusing. If at first Motorola stated that the deal runs through Monday, Dec. 7, the details for individual products about to get discounts make no mention of that date.
The Moto X offer is listed simply as available starting Monday, Nov. 30, from 11:00 a.m. CT, but has no end date specified. This suggests that it may be available only while supplies last.
The Moto G offer, meanwhile, notes that it starts at 11:00 a.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 30, and is available until 10:59 a.m. CT on Dec. 1.
The Moto 360 teaser, just like the Moto X one, notes the start time but not when it expires.
It’s possible that Motorola made a mistake when it mentioned Dec. 7 as the deadline for the promotion, and Dec. 1 could be the real date when the deals expire. At the same time, it’s possible that some products will see discounts as party of one-day only deals and others will see their price cuts extend over a whole week.
Oddly enough, Motorola only mentioned discounts for the products it launched last year, and not for the sleek new devices it released in 2015. It remains to be seen whether the company will discount newer products as well, but the aforementioned 2014 Motos will definitely be on sale.
