According to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), there are 14 Indian institutions in the World University Rankings.
QS has been producing authoritative, independent and global rankings since 2004 and continues to lead innovation in the ranking and evaluation of higher education institutions worldwide.
While IIT (Bombay) has been placed at 200, IIT (Madras) and IIT (Kanpur) were ranked 202 and 271 respectively.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) hold the first position and the prestigious Harvard University is placed at second.
