Snapdeal Sale Offers: iPhone 6s, Galaxy S7 Edge, and More Unbox Diwali Sale Deals

Just like Flipkart and Amazon, Snapdeal is putting all the time and energy behind its annual sale. Snapdeal’s Unbox Diwali Sale begins October 2 and will go on till October 6, the same as rival Flipkart. The Snapdeal sale offers great discounts and one-day deals on smartphones, tablets, and other electronics. The e-commerce giant is also giving away free prizes like the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and the Le Max 2 to few buyers in this five-day sale.

Snapdeal has partnered with Citibank, wherein all Citi debit and credit card holders will get a 20 percent instant discount on purchases. There’s also a Bajaj Finserv no cost EMI plan for those looking to pay in instalments for any Snapdeal offers as part of the Unbox Diwali sale. This plan will eliminate the need to pay any down payment, or a processing fee.

As part of the Unbox Diwali Sale, Snapdeal will offer discounts on the iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Unlike Flipkart, Snapdeal hasn’t unveiled the temporary price cut that these smartphones will get just yet, but looking at how big these annual sales are, they will hopefully be worthy. Other products that will get discounts as part of Snapdeal’s sale offers include the Sony PlayStation 4 1TB variant, the Canon EOS 1300D, and other home electronics and appliances.

Almost all the big electronics brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Micromax, Apple, Lenovo, HP, Seagate, SanDisk, and LG are participating in the Snapdeal Unbox Diwali Sale. As the sale falls in a festive week, Snapdeal is hosting exclusive stores for Navratri and Diwali. There’s a separate lighting and puja store as well for buying products pertinent to religious ceremonies.

As mentioned, Snapdeal will give away prizes to buyers who purchase mobile accessories worth more than Rs. 750 during the sale offers week. Prizes worth Rs. 4 lakhs are up for grabs during the Unbox Diwali Sale, and the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5 and LeEco Max 2 are also included among the goodies. Furthermore, there is a guaranteed Rs. 100 off on prepaid orders above Rs. 750 from 9am to 9pm on sale days. As part of the Diwali sale, Snapdeal will amp up its Deals of the Day page and include more products with heavy discounts. This page includes products from all categories like electronics, garments, and home decor.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have started receiving Android Oreo. The new Android version is available through a software update that some users in the UK have reportedly received at the present stage. The latest development comes shortly after Samsung officially revealed the update schedule for both of its 2016 flagships in South Korea. Also, the update emerges months after the company released Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

As reported by a large number of users on Reddit, the Android Oreo update is rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge model numbers SM-G930F and SM-G935F. It reportedly brings firmware version G930FXXU2ERD5 for the Galaxy S7 and G935FXXU2ERD5 for the Galaxy S7 Edge. Further, the update is sized at around 1.27GB and includes Samsung Experience 9.0. There are also default Android Oreo features, including Smart Autofill and Picture-in-Picture mode among others.

The Android Oreo update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge additionally has features such as Samsung Cloud and Find My Mobile. Similarly, there are improvements, including Bluetooth with high-quality audio codec support, video player supporting auto repeat and 2x speed option, video recorder with the ability to block calls while recording, and sticky notification on Samsung Health to let you see step count at a glance. Folks at SamMobile report that alongside the update for unlocked Galaxy S7 users, the Android Oreo update available for Vodafone UK-locked Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge units.

As with any other Android update, the Android Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) package. You can check its availability on your device by going to Settings > Software updates. It is recommended to back up your data before proceeding with the update. You are also advised to use a high-speed data or Wi-Fi connectivity to download the update.

Google Pixel 2 Spotted on US FCC Site With 'Active Edge', Android 8.0.1

Rumours and leaks have been flying around about the upcoming generation of Google Pixelsmartphones and the handset’s regular-sized variant – expected to be called the Pixel 2 – has now been spotted on the US FCC website. Apart from confirming that the regular variant will be manufactured by HTC, which was already suggested before, the documentation has revealed that it will come with a squeezable frame just like the HTC U11.

As per the US FCC website documentation, spotted by Android Police, Pixel 2 will support ‘Active Edge’ squeezable features, which are expected to work like Edge Sense features that were introduced by HTC on its U11 smartphone. This essentially means that users will be able to perform certain functions in the smartphone by simply squeezing its frames from the sides. To recall, this information was already leaked earlier.

The device with model number NM8G011A, where ‘G’ indicates it is a Google product as per AP, can be seen running Android 8.0.1 and comes with security patch dated August 5. The Pixel 2 smartphone has been tipped to be powered by either Snapdragon 835 or 836 due to the presence of “8998” band, as per the report. A recent report also suggested that the upcoming Pixel smartphones will be the first to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 SoC.

According to the documentation, the Pixel 2 smartphone is expected to come with 64GB of built-in storage and support NFC, Bluetooth, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The smartphone will sport 4GB of RAM, apart from 64GB and 128GB of internal storage options. So far, the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 have also been tipped to sport an ‘Always On’ display mode. Finally, Android Police points out that the FCC listing of the previous generation Pixel smartphones was spotted around the same time last year, which can mean that the new generation might be launched in October this year as well.

To recall, as per previous leaks, the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are rumoured to feature a 4.95-inch full-HD and 5.99-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) displays respectively that will be manufactured by LG. While the regular variant of the smartphone is expected to be manufactured by HTC, just as last year, the XL variant has been tipped to be made by LG.

The Pixel XL 2 is expected to feature wide bezels just like its predecessor but the Pixel XL 2 has been rumoured to come with near bezel-less display at front. The Pixel smartphones are expected to come with front-facing stereo speakers but ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
