An agricultural exhibition and interaction was organised at the Government Higher Primary School in Kuroodi in Gowribdanur taluk by the final year students of University of Agricultural Sciences (GKVK)- Bengaluru recently. It was held at the end of three month long Rural Agriculture Work Experience programme. Raitha Samparka Kendra, Department of Agriculture, Kuroodi grama panchayat and IFFCO joined hands in organising the exhibition.
A team of girl students displayed modern farm equipments and explained the visiting villagers about the insects that haunt the crops as well as the ways and means to control them. UAS-B dean Khader Khan counselled students to make best use of the experience they gained in the field work in
their career in the future. Hundreds of villagers watched the exhibition and interacted with the experts. Camp coordinator Y.N. Shivalingaiah, agriculture expert Jemla Nayak, Assistant Director of Agriculture Department Anurupa participated among others.

The Government College for Women in Kolar conducted a workshop for the commerce and management students of the college at T. Chennaiah Rangamandira on September 29.
Principal Anjanappa called upon students to improve the general knowledge in order to face the competitive examinations successfully. He also exhorted girls not to lag behind. “Don’t feel shy in coming forward. Those days are gone and the women have equal rights and opportunities,” he said. Govindappa, a lecturer from Bengaluru, provided useful tips to the students Management Studies lecturer Binoy Mathew from Chickballapur underlined the importance of developing communication skills along with academic excellence.
