KartRocket
Delhi-based KartRocket, a provider of e-commerce platforms for small retailers and SMEs, has raisedreportedly raised $6 million (roughly Rs. 40 crores) in a round of funding led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII). The startup had raised its Series A funding from Nirvana Venture Advisors, 500 Startups and Beenos in 2014, and reportedly works with 7,500 shops and makes 10,000 listings each day.

Care24
Mumbai-based home healthcare provider, Care24 has reportedly raised $4 million (roughly Rs. 27 crores) from SAIF Partners its Series A funding round, with participation fromseed investor India Quotient. Care24 lists verified physiotherapists, nurses and attendants on its platform and claims to have over 3,000 patients on its platform.

Remidio
Bengaluru-based opthalmic hardware maker Remidio has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount in Series B funding from domestic HNIs and Cipher-Plexus Capital Advisors. Founded Anand Sivaraman and Pramod Kummaya, the company has launched two of its products, which includes a smartphone-based PAN Eye Imaging device.

Fitso
Smartphone fitness app Fitso, has reportedly secured Rs. 1.35 crores in an angel funding round. Founded in 2015 by Saurabh Aggarwal, the Gurgaon-based startup offers apps for Android and iOS, which lets users discover activies, challenges, and professionals in their locality.

Snapshopr
Bengaluru-based SnapShopr, an AI startup focused on visual search and image recognition, hasreportedly secured an undisclosed amount in angel funding round from former CTO of Flipkart – Amod Malviya.

Orahi
Car pooling app Orahi has reportedly raised Rs.3.5 crores from Indian Angel Network (IAN). Orahi offers apps for Android and iOS, and claims to have over 30,000 registered members who have shared over 80,000 rides on the platform, including car owners and passengers.

Zoctr
Mumbai-based health aggregator platform Zoctr has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Times Group’s Brand Capital. Currently operating in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad, the startup aggregates home health, telehealth and remote patient monitoring services, and plans to launch apps for Android and iOS soon.

Zapr
Gurgaon-based media-tech startup Zapr, which claims to be India’s first comprehensive TV to mobile audience platform has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Flipkart, Saavn, Micromax, and Mu Sigma’s Dhiraj Rajaram. The company provides an audience platform which helps brands and media companies identify and re-engage audiences who have watched their TV commercials, across mobile, digital and social networks.

Our latest funding roundup has seen early stage and seed investments in startups engaged in last-minute hotel bookings, online jewellery, organic produce, and fashion.

SavvyMob
Bengaluru-based last minute hotel reservation app SavvyMob announced that it has closed a seed investment round led by Mohandas Pai’s Aarin Capital and angels from online funding platform LetsVenture, and members of prominent business houses in India. Founded by Bikram Sohal and Gappan Annamalai in 2014, the company has apps for Android and iOS, with over 10,000 downloads on Google Play at the time of writing. The company plans to add over 5,000 hotels across a hundred plus cities in India to its mobile marketplace in the coming months.

Melorra
Online jewellery brand Melorra has reportedly closed its first round of funding at $5 million (roughly Rs. 33.4 crores) from Lightbox Ventures. Funded in 2015 by Saroja Yeramilli, the Bengaluru-based startup provides free shipping, a 30-day free returns policy, and cash-on-delivery option. The company currently has an iOS app and plans to release an Android app soon.

Lumiere
Bengaluru-based seed-to-table organic product firm Lumiere Organic Venture Pvt Ltd has reportedly raised an undisclosed sum in Series A funding from 20 undisclosed investors. The company sources its produce from organic farms at Munnar, Kochi, and Kolar, and reportedly plans to add five more stores in Bengaluru by the end of 2016.

Fashionablyin
Mumbai-based Fashionablyin, a startup that helps designers seek help in sourcing direct from factories has received an undisclosed sum of funding in an round from Epic group chairman, Ranjan Mahtani. The company reportedly has over 2,000 businesses registered on its website, and aims to create a direct link between fashion houses, manufacturers, and suppliers.

In a week that saw a fair number of acquisitions, notably CommonFloor’s acquisition by Quikr, Times Internet’s acquisition of micro-content app Viral Shots, and Paytm’s acquisition of Shifu, funding activity in the latter half of the week is centred around food tech, edu-tech, car service, and train ticket discovery apps.

ConfirmTkt
Bengaluru-based train ticket discovery engine Confirmtkt has raised $250,000 (roughly Rs. 1.6 crores) from Venture Catalysts, a seed investment platform. Dr. Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Anirudh Damani, Anand Ladsariya, Sanjay Mehta, and Krishna Jhujhunwala led the round, with participation from Ms. Urrshila Kerkar. Founded in July 2014 by two ex-IBMers, Sripad Vaidya, and Dinesh Kumar Kotha, the app and website provides a ticket discovery engine which suggests the best personalised train travel options for every user. ConfirmTkt claimed a total of 500,000 mobile app installs on Android, iOS and Windows Phone, with a daily active usage of 35,000 unique users in an emailed statement.

Qdesq
Delhi-based workspace aggregator for startups Qdesq has raised an undisclosed sum of seed-funding from a clutch of angel investors led by Dheeraj Jain, partner at Redcliffe Capital,” Qdesq founder Paras Arora told PTI. Founded in October 2015, Qdesq offers ready-to-move-in office space at standardised pricing of Rs. 3,500 a month per workstation, with amenities like AC, power backup, free Wi-Fi, Tea and Coffee on the house. Odesq presently has 20 workspaces in Delhi and Gurgaon, ands plan to expand to other cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh.

Freshmenu
Bengaluru-based food delivery platform Freshmenu has reportedly raised Rs. 110 crores in funding led by Zodius Capital with participation from existing investor Lightspeed Venture Partners. Founded in 2014 by Rashmi Daga, Freshmenu lets users place orders throughout the web and app, and plans to expand to Mumbai and Gurgaon soon.

PitStop
Bengaluru-based car servicing platform Pitstop has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding from founders the of Myntra and Livspace. The six-month-old startup, founded by IITians Mihir Mohan Mishra and Nirant Ramakuru reportedly works with around 25-30 independent garages in Bengaluru.

Myly
EduCommerce Technologies, which owns and operates Myly app, a cloud-based interaction app for institutes, students and parents has reportedly raised seed funding of $100,000 (roughly Rs. 67 lakh) from Newbie Promoter Private Limited. The funding will be used by the Jaipur-based startup to acquire customers this year, it said. Myly’s app on Google Play has a rating of 4.4 stars with less than 5,000 downloads at the time of writing.

Former Housing.com CEO Rahul Yadav will be ending the year on a high note, with funding support from cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who will be backing his e-governance startup. Funding activity seems to have trickled down during the holiday season, centred around online grocery, car care, mobile wallets, and social networks.

Intelligent Interfaces
Cricketer Yuvraj Singh has invested an undisclosed amount in former Housing.com CEO Rahul Yadav’s new e-governance startup Intelligent Interfaces. “Proud to back Rahul Yadav and Intelligent Interfaces (ii) in helping the Government govern 100x better with the help of technology. Get ready for the (r)evolution!” Singh wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. Intelligent Interfaces had previously received the backing of Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal a fortnight ago.

MobiKwik
Gurgaon-based mobile wallet provider MobiKwik has reportedly raised an additional Rs. 44 crores in a mix of debt and equity from existing investors, Sequoia Capital and Tree Line Asia. The latest tranche is part of the company’s Series B round, following a $25 million (roughly Rs. 165 crores) investment in April this year.

Bumper
Bengaluru-based Bumper, which provides car care services through its mobile app has reportedly raised $500,000 (roughly Rs. 1.9 crores) in seed funding in an investment round led by SAIF Partners. Founded in 2015 by Akhil Gupta, Rahul Bendre, Ashis Nayak, and Kshitij Saxena, Bumper’s app has an overall rating of 4.2 stars, with over 10,000 downloads on Google Play.

Town Essentials
Bengaluru based online grocery startup Town Essentials, has reportedly raised $1 million (roughly Rs 6.7 crores) in a fresh round of angel funding. The company has reportedly launched a platform called Morning Drop that will deliver products like milk, bread, and eggs on a subscription basis.

Hubhopper
Delhi based user-adaptive social network Hubhopper, which calls itself the happiest place on the Web, has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount of funding. Founded by Gautam Anand in 2015, Hubhopper’s feed curates music according to genres, and lets users dictate what activities and interests they want to see in their feed.

PepperTap
Gurgaon-based hyperlocal grocery delivery service PepperTap has reportedly closed its Series B round of funding with an additional $4 million (roughly Rs. 26.5 crores) from Innoven Capital. PepperTap hadrecently raised $36 million from Snapdeal, with participation from existing investors Sequoia India and SAIF Partners, and new investors like Ru-net, JAFCO, and BeeNext.

Truckmandi
Delhi-based Truckmandi, an online platform that connects businesses to freight transport providers has reportedly raised around $2 million (roughly Rs. 13.3 crores) in pre-Series A funding from JustEat India founder Ritesh Dwivedy and other investors. Founded in 2015 by Anurag Jain, Ankit Singh, and Nishant Singh, the startup reportedly does trips worth Rs. 1 crore a month, month and claims to be growing at about 30 percent monthly.

Obino
Obino, an app-based weight loss coaching platform owned an operated by Delhi-based Manna Healthcare Pvt. Ltd has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount in its seed round from US-based venture capital fund RoundGlass Partners. Obino charges between Rs. 499 and Rs. 1,499, for personalised diet and fitness plans, and claims to have 10,000 users with over 500 paid clients.

CBREX
Mumbai-based, cross-border hiring platform CBREX has reportedly raised around $200,000 (roughly Rs. 1.3 crores) in an angel round by diluting 10 percent of its equity. The website claims to host 232 member firms from 51 countries, with 57 open jobs at the time of writing.

KOOH Sports
Mumbai-based sports education startup KOOH Sports has reportedly raised $2 million (roughly Rs. 13.2 crores) in funding. Founded in 2010, the startup has enrolled over 200,000 students, with tie ups from over 150 schools in 35 cities.

Mech Mocha
As reported earlier, Bengaluru-based game development studio Mech Mocha has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from e-commerce major Flipkart and early stage investor Blume Ventures. Arpit Agarwal, Principal at Blume Ventures told Gadgets 360 that Flipkart had invested a low double digit figure in the company. Industry sources peg the deal to be in the range of $300,000 (roughly Rs. 1.9 crores) to $500,000 (roughly Rs. 3.3 crores).

Shotang
Shotang, a B2B inventory e-commerce marketplace operated by Bengaluru-based Sabonka Tecnologies Pvt Ltd, has reportedly raised $5 million (roughly Rs. 33 crores) in Series A funding from Exfinity Venture Partners and Unitus Impact Livelihoods Fund. Founded in 2013 by Anish Basu Roy and Anterpreet Singh, Shotang is reportedly active in two metro cities, with 3,000 retailers transacting every week on the platform.

Arya.ai
Mumbai-based AI startup Arya.ai has reportedly raised $750,000 (roughly Rs. 5 crores) in its pre-Series A round of funding from YourNest Angel Fund and VentureNursery members. Founded by IIT Mumbai researchers Vinay Kumar Sankarapu and Deekshith Marla, Arya.ai offers deep learning algorithms for developers to build intelligent AI systems.

MobieFit
Goa-based mobile fitness startup MobieFit has reportedly raised MobieFit $1 million (roughly Rs. 6.6 crores) in a strategic investment from Bengaluru-based Medi Assist. Founded by Gourav Jaswal and Gul Panag, Mobiefit offers an app called FirstRun for aspiring marathon runners for Android, and has registered over 50,000 downloads on Google Play.

LafaLafa
Cashback and coupons aggregator LafaLafa has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount in its seed round from Hong Kong-based venture capital firm Vectr Ventures. Founded in April 2015 by Yosha Gupta, the startup has seen over 550,000 downloads since the launch of its services.

Rivigo
Logistics platform Rivigo has reportedly raised $30 million (roughly Rs. 198 crores) from SAIF Partners and other investors in its Series B round, in a mix of equity and debt financing. The company plans to use the proceeds to ramp up its operations, and scale ten times in the next 12 months.

Ampere
Infosys co-founder and former CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan has reportedly invested $1.2 million (roughly Rs. 8 crores) in Coimbatore-based Ampere Vehicles, a manufacturer of electric bikes and three wheelers. Founded by Hemalatha Annamalai, the startup saw investments from Tata Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata in July this year.

Stage3
Delhi-based online luxury fashion rental portal Stage3, which lists apparels from leading Indian designers on its platform, has reportedly raised an undisclosed sum of funding. Founded by Sabena Puri and Sanchit Baweja, the startup aims to make high end outfits accessible its members by leveraging technology.

Eatfresh
Eatfresh, online platform for chef-made meals announced that it had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Kalaari Capital. Eatfresh runs on a full-stack business model to ensure high product quality and service levels, said Rajiv Subramanian, Founder and CEO, said on a post on LinkedIn. Launched in August 2015, the startup operates in 15 delivery areas around Bengaluru.

The News Minute
South India focused news content website The News Minute has reportedly raised an undisclosed amount of angel funds from Quintillion Media, the publishers of TheQuint.com. Founded in 2014 by Chitra Subramaniam, Dhanya Rajendran, and Vignesh Vellore, the firm plans to use the funds to hire more reporters and enhance the front-end for low-bandwidth connections.

Our latest funding roundup covers institutional and seed investments made in Indian startups this week, in sectors as varied as home services, cab search, reverse logistics and virtual healthcare platforms.

HouseJoy
Home services provider Housejoy announced Wednesday its fundraise of Rs. 150 crores in Series B round of funding. The round was led by Amazon, and new investors Vertex Ventures, Qualcomm and Ru-Net Technology Partners. Existing investors Matrix Partners India also participated in the round.

The funds will be used solve deep operational issues, make strategic acquisitions and partnerships and build the team, the Bengaluru-based company said in an emailed statement. The company aims to be present in more than 10 cities and have 50,000 service providers on the platform, serving 100,000 jobs per day.

BluBirch
Bengaluru-based Blubirch, a solution provider for electronics and IT reverse logistics, announced Wednesday that it has secured $2 million (roughly Rs. 13.3 crores) in angel funding from Chicago Capital ventures, Sanjay Mehta, Angel and PE Investor and others. Founded in April 2014 by Sapan Jain, Jeby Cherian, Amit Goel, and Jayathirtha P. Katti, the company provides solutions for IT asset management and remarketing refurbished customer returns and excess.

Cabsguru
New Delhi-based cab search, comparison and booking platform Cabsguru, owned by Nohup Technologies Private Limited raised $200,000 (roughly Rs. 1.3 crores) in an angel funding round on Tuesday. Founded by Vikash Singh and Pulkit Ahuja, Cabsguru announced that it has pioneered and launched a first of its kind multiple cab operator cab search and booking bot, called Robocab. The app, available for Android phones, has over 100,000 downloads on Google Play.

MeraDoctor
Health consultation app Meradoctor has reportedly raised $1.04 million (roughly Rs. 7 crore) in a pre-series A led by Unilazer Ventures, with participation from existing investor IndiaQuotient. The funding would be invested to scale its technology platform and grow its doctor base, the company said. Meradoctor’s app for Android currently has over 100,000 downloads on Google Play.

Streamoid
Bengaluru-based Streamoid, a visual-search and discovery services provider has reportedly raised $1 million (roughly Rs. 6.7 crores) in angel funding. Founded in 2014 by Sridhar Manthani and Haricharan Lakshman, and Rajesh Kumar, the company is also incorporated in the US, and is said to have products for the e-commerce and publishing industry.
