NEET 2017: Answer keys released on cbseneet.nic.in, here’s how to challenge

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the answer keys and OMR sheet of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 on the official website – cbseneet.nic.in, following the Supreme Court ruling asking it to announce the results.

The NEET 2017 results are expected to be announced within a week of the completion of answer keys challenge.

The board will now display the answer keys on 15 and 16 June after students’ deadline to check the OMR answer sheets and responses ended on Wednesday, 14 June at 5pm.

The candidates willing to challenge the responses of their OMR sheet and answers prepared by CBSE may do so by paying a fee of Rs1000 per response/per question challenged.

They can check the scanned Images of their OMR Sheet & Answer Keys by logging into their account using their user ID (Registration No.) and Password on NEET website.

Only online challenges within the stipulated period and with applicable fee will be considered. Fee paid will be refunded to the candidate if his/her challenge is accepted by the CBSE.

The decision of the CBSE in the matter of challenges to the responses marked by the candidates & Answer Key shall be final.

New Delhi: The Delhi University’s first list of candidates for admission to its undergraduate programmes will be announced on the evening of 23 June.

Initially, the date fixed for release of first cut-off list was 20 June.

Although the university had announced that it would release six cut-off lists, dates of only five have been announced so far.

More cut-off lists would be announced depending on the vacancy.

After the first cut-off list is announced on 23 June evening, admissions would begin the next day, a release from the office of the Delhi University registrar said.

The dates for release of subsequent cut-off lists are 1 July, 7 July, 13 July and 18 July. Verification of documents and approval for admissions will be done between 9.30am and 1.30pm for morning colleges and 4pm to 7pm for evening colleges.

“After approval of admission, the applicant has to log on to undergraduate admission portal for online payment of admission fee,” the release said.

Admit cards for MP DMAT Re-Exam 2015 released

The MP DMAT has published the re-examination admit card at the official website, as per reports.

The applicants can download the admit cards from the link: apdmcmp.com.

Procedure for downloading the admit cards:

-The candidates need to login to the above-mentioned URL link.

-Click on the link, ‘Admit Card DMAT – 2015’

-Insert name and date of birth

-On submitting the same, the admit card will be displayed on the screen.

 

The applicants must take a print-out of the admit cards and keep a copy of the same for future use.

The candidates must carry the admit at the examination centre and photograph, failing which, they will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

The computer based exam is scheduled to be held on October 8.

APDMC is an association of 20 unaided, private medical and dental colleges in Madhya Pradesh. These institutes conduct the DMAT jointly every year.

Apple has released iOS 12.1.3 as a new software update for all the compatible iPhone and iPad models. Similar to the previous iOS 12 update, the latest software version doesn’t bring any noticeable changes on board. It, however, addresses some minor bugs to enhance the user experience. The iOS 12.1.3 update also fixes some known vulnerabilities. The Cupertino giant has also brought watchOS 5.1.3 with bug fixes. Apple’s HomePod has also received a couple of improvements to address the existing issues.

As per the official changelog, the iOS 12.1.3 update fixes a bug that was impacting scrolling through photos in the Messages Details view. The new iOS version also addresses the problem that was bringing striped artefacts to photos after being share from the Share Sheet. There is also a fix for the issue that was causing “certain CarPlay systems” to disconnect from the new iPhone models, including the iPhone XR₹ 72,484, iPhone XS₹ 91,131, and iPhone XS Max.

Specifically for the iPad Pro (2018) models, the iOS 12.1.3 update fixes an issue that was causing audio distortion with some external audio input devices. The latest iOS release also has some fixes pertaining to the HomePod. Notably, Apple hasn’t detailed in the official changelog whether the iOS 12.1.3 update fixes the cellular data connectivity issues that were reported for the iOS 12.1.2 update last month.

How to download iOS 12.1.3, watchOS 5.1.3

The iOS 12.1.3 update is compatible with all the iPhone and iPad models running iOS 12. To download the latest version on your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Your device should be using a Wi-Fi connection to download the over-the-air update. Also, it is recommended to back up your data, and ensuring your device has over 50 percent of charge or connected to a power source before beginning the update process.

The watchOS 5.1.3 update is compatible with all Apple Watch models running watchOS 5. To download the update, go to the Apple Watch app on your iOS device and then visit General > Software Update.

The Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent of the battery charge to enable the installation process. Also, it is recommended to keep it on the charging dock while installing the new update. Your iPhone will also need to be in close proximity to the Apple Watch and will need to be on Wi-Fi. The Apple Watch should restart twice before the update is completely installed, and you need to enter the Watch passcode if prompted, after beginning the update and then follow the prompts from your iPhone.

Huawei Nova 4 Bezel-Less Design Said to Be Shown Off in Live Stream, Concept Render Released

Huawei has recently been rumoured to be working on its first-ever smartphone with an all-screen design and a hole to fit in the selfie camera, something the company has itself also teased for a December launch. Now, reports claim this may be the Huawei Nova 4, a smartphone that was allegedly shown off by Huawei itself at an event in China during a livestream. Additionally, an alleged promotional poster has been spotted that teases the all-screen design. Lastly, a supposed press render of the Huawei Nova 4 is out, showing a similar design. Let’s delve into the details.

First off, a report by German blog WinFuture.de claims that the front of the Huawei Nova 4 was teased by Huawei on stage at the occasion of the 18th large-scale birthday celebrations of popular Chinese singer Jackson Yee. The phone was showcased for quite some time with the main camera focusing on a close-up shot of the smartphone. The back of the phone was not expectedly revealed in the video, in order to show the major display design change. The live stream can be played back on Iqiyi; the phone is shown from the 35:30 time stamp onwards.

To recall, earlier this week Huawei released a teaser for a December launch of a smartphone with an all-screen display and a small hole on the top left for the selfie camera, and possibly other sensors. The tweet also claims that there will be a battle between Huawei and Samsung (Galaxy A8s) to be the world’s first brand to unveil a smartphone with this kind of a display design.

Lastly, another tipster Ben Geskin, with username @VenyaGeskin1, has published what is seemingly a concept render of the upcoming Huawei Nova 4 with the same design as seen in the video and other leaks. Do note that this is not an official press render, and instead one created on the basis of leaks that have emerged in the past few days.

Sunlit 2.0 Released as a Micro.blog and WordPress Photo Blogging App

It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 4 years since Sunlit debuted as an iOS photo-sharing app built on top of App.net, the social network that has since been shut down. App.net didn’t make it, but Sunlit is back and has been reimagined as a photo blogging app for Micro.blog and WordPress sites.

Sunlit makes it a breeze to create short photo blog posts that it calls Stories. The app has two tabs: ‘Stories’ and ‘Discover.’ The Stories tab lists any past Stories you’ve created. New Stories are created form the button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Photos can be added from your Photo Library, Flickr, Dropbox, and Instagram. After selecting the photos you want to use, tapping the Add button takes you to the Story editing screen where the images are grouped by date.

Each Story can have a title, date, location, and description. Rearranging the photos in a Story is a simple matter of dragging them into the order you want, though Sunlit does not support iOS 11’s ability to drag multiple items at once. On compatible iPhones, the photos settle into place with a satisfying tap from the Taptic Engine. Locations can be chosen from previous Swarm check-ins or by searching for nearby locales on a map. You can edit photos and apply filters by tapping on one from the Story view too.

Stories can remain on your iOS device if you prefer, but the real value of Sunlit is publishing them to a Micro.blog or WordPress site. After connecting the app to your Micro.blog or WordPress account, publishing is a one-tap process. After everything is finished uploading, Sunlit provides a URL that you can share with others. To make changes, just edit your Story in Sunlit and tap ‘Publish Changes.’ There’s also an option to ‘unpublish’ posts. The workflow couldn’t be simpler.

The second tab in Sunlit, called ‘Discover,’ is dedicated to exploring the photos posted by others on Micro.blog. The tab displays a grid of photos by Micro.blog users. Tap on one, and it opens against a black background with the photographer’s name, a link to the post, and a button for opening the post in the Micro.blog app.

The primary thing I’d like to see improved in the next version of Sunlit is the iPad experience. The app doesn’t support dragging and dropping multiple photos within Sunlit or dragging photos in from other apps. Also, on the iPad Pro, tapping on a photo in a Story opens a zoomed in version that extends beyond the boundaries of the screen and is shifted to one side. That’s a layout issue that is slated to be fixed in an upcoming update, but for the time being, it makes viewing photos more difficult on an iPad Pro than an iPhone. I’d also like to see Sunlit sync Stories across iOS devices, which it does not do currently.

Those criticisms aside, Sunlit is one of the lowest friction ways I’ve tried to create a photo blog, which I appreciate. I also like that Sunlit wasn’t built into the Micro.blog iOS app as a feature. The separation of the two helps streamline the experience in both apps. Judging from the Discover tab in Sunlit, photography is one of the most popular uses for Micro.blog, so it’s also wonderful to see a dedicated app that will continue to feed that growing part of the community.

IBPS RRB VI prelims admit card/call letter released: Where and how to download

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will release the admit cards of RRBs officers Scale I preliminary examination 2017 this month.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on Monday released the admit cards of officers Scale I preliminary examination 2017 for recruitment in participating regional rural banks (RRBs). The online preliminary examination for officer scale I will be held on September 9, September 10 and September 16, 2017 (if required).

Steps to download the call letter/admit card for Officer Scale I exam:

1) Go to official website of IBPS

2) Click on the link to download call letter (admit card) for CRP RRBs-VI officers scale I running on the top of the page

3) You will be directed to the login page

4) Enter your registration no and password

5) Enter the captcha code

6) Click on login and your admit card will be displayed on the screen

7) Take a print-out and save it on your computer

No hard copy of admit card will be sent to the candidates.

The commission has also issued an information handout for the examination which can be checked at the bottom of the page.

Preliminary exam pattern:

The preliminary examination will be of 45-minute duration, with two sections carrying 80 marks for 80 questions.

For officer scale I there will be 40 questions of reasoning and 40 questions of quantitative aptitude while for office assistant there will be 40 questions of reasoning and 40 questions of numerical ability. The medium of exam will be Hindi/English.

To be successful (for both posts), one needs to qualify in both the tests by securing a minimum cut-off marks set by the IBPS.

New Delhi: The Union Public Services commission has released the time table for the 2017 Civil Services mains Examination . The papers will be conducted over a week’s time starting from 28 October to 3 November.

According to the schedule released on upsc.gov.in, the first to be conduced is the essay paper scheduled in the first half of Saturday, 28 October from 9am to noon. No paper is scheduled for 29 October as it is a Sunday.

The four general studies papers will be conducted on 30 and 31 October in four shifts—the morning session will be from 9am to noon, while the afternoon session will last 2 to 5pm.

The language papers will be conducted on 1 November with the Indian languages paper scheduled for the morning session while the English paper is scheduled for the afternoon session.

Candidates can opt for any language option from the 22 languages listed in the eighth schedule of the Constitution.

No paper is scheduled for 2 November.

The two optional papers are scheduled to be held on 3 November.

The preliminary examination was conducted in June and the results were published in July. Those who qualified the prelimiary exam are now eligible to appear for the main examination.

Candidates must fill the detailed application form (DAF) for the main examination which is likely to appear on the UPSC website on 17 August.

Meanwhile, candidates are advised to read the guidelines for filling DAF available on the UPSC website as no changes can be made after the final submission.
