The Indian Institute of Patna (IIT-Patna) will shift to its permanent campus at Bihta on July 25, which will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is also scheduled to address a public rally the same day in Muzaffarpur, around 70 km north of the capital city.
The Bihar government is taking all measures to ensure a successful visit by the Prime Minister and beefing up the security during his public rally in Muzaffarpur, as well. Narendra Modi’s security will be looked after by the Special Protection Group (SPG) – an elite commando force along with the involvement of the Bihar government.
Presently, IIT Patna is moving out of its temporary campus in Patliputra. The entire process of shifting, including setting up of classrooms, laboratory, etc. at the new campus will be done in phases.
The registration and induction process for the admission of the new candidates will begin on-campus from July 22 onwards and classes will commence on July 26. The campus, at present, boasts of around 80 faculty members and 970 students. Its annual intake capacity is 200 students for undergraduate (UG) Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) programmes in five disciplines.
According to the information released by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, the inauguration was supposed to be conducted on June 29. The delay apparently happened since the classrooms, mess, hostel, faculty residence was not completely ready.

As a result, the elite group of institutions are now likely to lower the bar for admissions in order to include people from the weaker strata of the society. The IITs will now be admitting students with scores as low as 31 out of 504, or with a percentage of 6.1 so as to fill vacant seats.
The Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (OCHSE) declared the Class 12 board results at 10:30 am, today. The board declared the results for all four streams, Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational, simultaneously. The students can now to check their results online at the official site of the council.
