Admission Process for Engineering Courses in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, Almost all the institutes are offering the bachelor in Engineering (BE) with a huge availability of seats out there. 250+ out of 368 institutes in Maharashtra are private unaided Institutes.

DTE is the authority which regulates, conducts and controls the admission process of engineering courses in Maharashtra.

To seek admission in B.Tech or any engineering course in Maharashtra, you need to appear and qualify in MH-CET entrance exam. MH-CET is the only common entrance test held by Maharashtra

The Admission Process is below

  1. Filling of online application form for centralized admission to engineering/technology by eligible candidates.
  2. Verification of Documents & confirmation of online application form at Application Form Receipt Centers (ARCs).
  3. Display of provisional merit list of candidates who have confirmed the online application form on website www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/fe2014.
  4. Submission of grievances (if any) at ARC.
  5. Declaration of Final merit list on the official website of DTE
  6. Filling and confirmation of option form for the round I by the candidate through his/her login.
  7. Display of allotment of CAP Round-I on the website.
  8. Reporting to respective institutes as per allotment of CAP Round-I.
  9. Filling of Online option Form for CAP Round II by the candidate with his/her login.
  10. Confirmation of option form for Round II by the candidate through his/her login.
  11. Display of allotment of CAP Round-II on the website.
  12. Reporting to respective Institutes as per allotment of CAP Round-II
  13. Filling of online option form for CAP Round III by the candidate through his/her Login.
  14. Display of allotment of CAP Round III on the website.
  15. CAP Round-IV by counseling and reporting to respective Institute.

Eligibility Criteria for local, National and foreign students are different

First thing is that the student must be 12th passed with subjects English, Mathematics and Chemistry/Physics/Biology or Vocational subject.

Must have secured minimum of 50% marks in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and Mathematics

Must have obtained a positive composite score (Adding 50% of JEE marks percentile and 50% of 12th standard marks percentile.)

Seat Allotment is done through CAPS and is based on the merit list and so many aspects like the State level Seat will be allotted to students away from their home university area and so on.

Samsung Says Its 8nm FinFET Chip Fabrication Process Is Ready for Mass Production

Samsung said on Wednesday that its 8nm FinFET process (8nm Low Power Plus) technology is ready for production. The 8LPP node, the company said, will provide up to 10 percent lower power consumption even as it takes up to 10 percent less area compared to 10LPP.

Even as 8nm Low Power Plus will serve as a stop gap solution to Samsung before it moves to 7nm process next year, 8LPP offers a range of improvements. 8LPP will provide differentiated benefits for applications including mobile, cryptocurrency, and network and server, and is expected to be the “most attractive process node” for many other high performance applications, the company said.

Samsung said it expects 8LPP to rapidly ramp-up to the level of stable yield by using the tried and tested learnings from 10nm process technology. “With the qualification completed three months ahead of schedule, we have commenced 8LPP production,” said Ryan Lee, Vice President of Foundry Marketing at Samsung Electronics.

Lee added, “Samsung Foundry continues to expand its process portfolio in order to provide distinct competitive advantages and excellent manufacturability based on what our customers and the market require.”

For Samsung, which is increasingly competing against TSMC, getting to the industry-best 7nm is crucial. TSMC is already considered ahead in 7nm, but Samsung touts that its extreme ultraviolet lithography technology is more efficient.

Another thing going for the South Korean technology conglomerate is having Qualcomm, with which it has competed in the past, as one of its biggest clients. “8LPP will have a fast ramp since it uses proven 10nm process technology while providing better performance and scalability than current 10nm-based products” said RK Chunduru, Senior Vice President of Qualcomm.

The company says it will share more about its foundry roadmap, including the availability of 8LPP and 7nm EUV development at Samsung Foundry Forum Europe on October 2017.

On the first day of pre-bookings, Reliance Jio has finally released the full specifications of Jio Phone on its website. Aimed at 2G feature phone users who are yet to join the company’s network, the handset is “essentially free,” though you will have to make a refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,500. The specification sheet confirms several key Jio Phone features that consumers were curious about, such as expandable storage support, processor, and whether it has hotspot function or not.

Jio Phone specifications

The single Nano-SIM JioPhone sports a 2.4-inch QWVGA (240×320 pixels) display, and is powered by the 1.2GHz Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A/QC8905 dual-core processor with Mali-400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. It offers 4GB of internal storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card (up to 128GB).

There’s a 2-megapixel rear camera at the back and a VGA front camera. The JioPhone packs a 2000mAh battery that is rated to offer 12 hours of talk time and 15 days of standby time. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, FM Radio, GPS, and USB 2.0 support.

Jio Phone features

JioPhone comes with voice-enabled search with Jio Assistant that allows you to open apps, search on Google, and even compose SMSes. It works in English and Hindi both catering to a large audience. The JioPhone also allows you to connect the phone to the TV for projection using the JioMediaCable As mentioned, it comes with 22 Indian language support including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

As of now, the Jio Phone is only available in Black, and in-box accessories include the handset, removable battery, charger adaptor, quick service guide, warranty card, and SIM card. The first Jio-branded phone will come preloaded with apps such as JioCinema, JioMusic, JioTV, and JioXpressNews, along with popular instant messaging and social networking apps.

CBSE UGC NET November 2017 application process begins today

New Delhi: Application process for the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) starts today.

Candidates can fill the online application form till 11 September though payment through an online challan can be made till 12 September.

The NET is conducted for determining eligibility for junior research fellowship and assistant professorship.

Those who have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’s programme or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by University Grants Commission are eligible to take the test.

This year CBSE has decided to use Aadhaar as a means of authentication for applicants at the time of application submission except for those appearing in test centres located in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya.

Candidates in these states must provide details of any other valid government identity document only if they choose a centre in these states.

Here is a step-by-step guide to apply for the CBSE NET 2017 at cbsenet.nic.in:

■ Visit cbsenet.nic.in and click on ‘Fill application form- NET November 2017’.

■ Enter authentication details using Aadhaar number.

■ Generate a password as well as a security question and make a note of the application number for future login/reference.
