Adding to the list of stringent measures, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to install jammers in the examination halls for the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) retest. This decision has been taken in order to curb the use of communication devices, so as to minimise the chances of cheating.
CBSE has instructed the invigilators to carry a flashlight inside the examination hall, in order to ascertain that no communication devices, such as Bluetooth headsets and miniature cameras are not used. They have also been given the authority to check the candidates’ ears and spectacles if needed.
CBSE has issued stringent guidelines to be followed during the exam, this came after the cheating racket across the country, which reached the scale of an organised crime. The board is not ready to leave anything to chance and is keen on creating an environment which makes it impossible for students to cheat. The Supreme Court had ordered CBSE to conduct a retest after the widespread cheating in the exam conducted on May 3.
The candidates have been instructed to wear only trousers, a half sleeve kurta or t-shirt and flip flops. They cannot wear shoes, belts, wrist watches, scarves, caps or even clothes with large buttons or badges. CBSE has cracked down on accessories as well, the candidates are not allowed to wear any religious charms or ‘magic’ amulets/jewellery. There will a check on almost all types of accessories, such as earrings, nose rings, necklaces, brooches, chains, bracelets, pendants, etc.
The restrictions on clothing are not limited to the type of clothes, the board has gone to the extent of prescribing the pattern and colours of the garments as well. It has notified that only light coloured clothes should be worn, and there should be no flowers or any other elaborate pattern on the outfit.
The retest is set to be conducted on July 25, approximately 6.3 lakh students will appear for the retest.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has allowed two Muslim girls to wear headscarves and full-sleeved dresses on the day of the AIPMT re-test, according to a directive by the Kerala High Court. . The exam is scheduled to be held on June 25. This decision came after the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat and two girls wrote a petition on the ban on hijab, as it is culturally unacceptable to go out in public in a different set of clothes.
The admissions under the Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) third cut-off list has begun. The students can take admissions from July 22 to 24, for the same. They are required to report to the college of their choice between 10 am to 3 pm on any of the three days.
The seat allocation process for preparatory courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has begun today i.e. July 22. The candidates will be allotted seats today. The candidates will be allowed to accept the seats and go to their respective reporting centres, starting at 10 am on July 23 up till 5 pm on July 26.
